| What is a better birth? | ||||||
| It is NOT about trying to control the actual event of childbirth. It is NOT about whether a woman has gas or pethidine, or has a waterbirth or a caesarean. It IS about walking away from your birth feeling strong, positive, and confident. It IS about knowing WHAT THINGS ARE IMPORTANT IN BIRTH if you want to get those good feelings. It IS feeling part of the decision-making, which is a KEY FACTOR many women report made their birth a positive event...REGARDLESS of how the birth unfolded |
||||||
| WHY would I want one? | ||||||
| Because birth can be one of the most amazing, fulfilling and exciting life experiences we can have. And because we don¹t just leave our feelings about our birth at the hospital. The feelings we bring home about the birth can affect our experience of parenting our new babies. If we bring home feelings of confidence, joy, and strength, our instinctive bonding is promoted with our gorgeous little ones. Our confidence in all aspects of life can soar and we can connect at a new level with our partners. If we are bringing home feelings of fear, isolation and confusion, bonding with our beautiful babies can be difficult, and feelings of failure can result. Our confidence can plummet, and relationships with partners can suffer. These feelings can infiltrate all areas of our lives as a new family. Motherhood is challenging enough, without starting off feeling traumatised by your birth experience. |

| Isn't "Healthy Mum & Baby" the Number One priority? | ||||||
| Yes, yes, yes! And doesn¹t a "healthy" mum also mean one who is healthy emotionally? SAFETY DOES NOT NEED TO BE COMPROMISED TO HAVE A BETTER BIRTH! Do you want a birth where safety is paramount? Do you want a birth where you can feel strong, happy, and confident afterwards? Then you want a Better Birth. |
