"Due to my rather large fibroid I ended up having an elective caesarean birth. All went very well, no pain, and generally it was a wonderful experience…I would like to thank you for all I have learned through your sessions. I felt well armed with knowledge. |

Meeting your child via caesarean can be a positive, enriching event. But it does require a certain level of knowledge and understanding to know how to plan an empowering caesarean. |
| Maximise your chances | ||||||
Through our antenatal course titled “Path to a Better Birth”, you can discover ways to maximize your chances of feeling that initial bonding and rush of hormones that women having a natural birth often experience. You can feel safe & strong. You can be involved and important. It is these feelings that affect a woman’s perception of her birth experience, and can colour the entire postnatal period and beyond. |
Is it really possible? |
To see an “empowering caesarean” birth plan created and used by one Birthtalk woman,
go to the Caesarean Awareness Network Australia, at www.canaustralia.net/csbirthplan.htm. |
| Support After a Caesarean | ||||||
For women needing emotional support & understanding after a caesarean birth, we recommend our“Healing from Birth” support group . Many women processing a caesarean birth attend, and are supported by women who have themselves experienced a challenging caesarean experience, and have moved on and made peace with their birth.
