I'M NOT SURE IF MY BIRTH WAS "BAD ENOUGH"
The seminar offers a chance to be heard for ALL women, with ideas how to work through or just gain information for next time. We define a "challenging" birth as one that the WOMAN felt challenged - so it's more about how you felt rather than how it looks compared to other people's births.

I'M OK, I'M NOT TRAUMATISED, I JUST WANT
TO FIND OUT MORE

That's fine - you will probably find quite a bit that relates to you. We will be looking at vital information that is relevant to all women who are interested in having a positive experience of birth. Things like how to understand and negotiate our Health System, and How a Birthing Body Works, and the conditions women's bodies need to be able to birth best. There will also be information on birth options for women who have had a caesarean.

MY BIRTH WAS REALLY TRAUMATIC - HOW CAN
THE SEMINAR HELP ME?

The seminar is an opportunity to get ideas to move forward. Women in the past have found the information offered by Birthtalk has helped those who have had very traumatic births to make peace & move forward...some have found it more helpful than years of counselling.

If you are concerned about your specific situation, please feel free to contact Deb, who is presenting the Seminar. She is a midwife, and has been running Birthtalk "Healing From Birth" sessions for 4 years, and would be really happy to talk through some things with you about the Seminar.
